Governance & Accountability

Visible controls, responsibly shared

The Center treats accountability as part of the work, not an afterthought. It maintains clear legal standing, financial discipline, nonpartisan safeguards, and sensible data practices — and it shares enough to be trusted without oversharing material that should remain private.

Legal Standing

The Patrice Lumumba Center for Human Dignity, Inc. is a nonprofit institution for civic and political leadership formation. As a newly formed organization, the Center is building its founding governance architecture — bylaws, a conflict-of-interest policy, and an independent board — and maintains its registration and filing records accordingly.

Financial Controls

Program funds are budgeted, tracked, and reconciled against defined deliverables. Expenditures follow documented approval steps, and the Center keeps records suitable for funder and audit review.

Nonpartisan Statement

The Center is political in doctrine and nonpartisan in method. It forms committed leaders for political and civic life, because human dignity requires legitimate institutions and the responsible exercise of public power. It is not a political party, campaign committee, candidate committee, or electoral consulting firm, and it does not support or oppose any party, candidate, campaign, or electoral committee. Its work is leadership formation, democratic governance, public accountability, and human dignity.

Data & Privacy

The Center collects only the information it needs, protects personal and partner data, and does not publish sensitive material — including home-address details or unredacted internal documents — on the public site.

Documentation

Public-safe summaries — including the Nigeria program one-pager, a governance-and-controls summary, and the Center’s nonpartisan statement — are available to funders and partners on request.
